I've been cleaning my sewing room and decided to take another count of my UFO's.   23!!  

Some of these have been on this crowded list for years. A good part of them are appliqué or hand sewn.  Maybe I shouldn't start any more appliqué untill I finish all of these. I might be 100 by then. Lol

Well, off to work I go.....

Melancholy

It's been a nice long weekend.  

I slept in until 10:00 one day, spent hours in the ministry.....helped with a wedding. A friends brother inlaw died and we've had hot dogs and a fire. Seems so schizophrenic! 

The whole thing has left me feeling humble and reflective.  From the time we're little girls we dream and plan of our wedding.  Then the day comes and goes so fast!  It's so nice to see old friends while at the wedding but the "time out" of our daily routine seems so short. Then a very quick few decades flash by and because of death, we're alone again.   I know the reason all his happens. It's the whole theme of the bible. I also know this won't last forever. 

I'm so thankful for my life. The everyday moments that fill my heart. A bride's radiant smile. The thoughts of what life will be like together.  A warm fire and a glass of wine. A long dog at my feet and the cutest bald guy on the planet by my side. Friends!  What would life be like without them?!  

I hope for more weekends like this one. When all of our friends feel good enough to come. When there's no cancer, missing family or hospital vigils.   Until that time, I want to be part of them all. To share moments with my friends and family. To have shared experiences that we can look back on with a sigh or a song in our heart.

Ihave run a little. 5k today with these girls. It was fun!  

I need to keep pounding the pavement.  I'm slower than last time. Boo hoo!  

"Out there" makes me happy despite my speed.

Hot chocolate 5k. Seattle 3-1-15

We did it!  It was so much fun. Kristen, Candace and I got our run on, early Sunday morning. The weather was beautiful!  Cold but clear blue sky's. I'm so excited with how well we did.

 I ran almost the whole thing.   It's unbelievable that 8 weeks ago I couldn't run for one minute. I'm hoping I'm addicted.  Lol. I'm going to sign up for another one quick!  before I lose my nerve. 

Landmark

Today is the first day of my seventh week,  out of a nine week "learn to run" class. I can't believe it I ran the whole time!  I'm so over the moon excited about it!  I feel stronger with every run. It's crazy that I couldn't run for a minute six weeks ago.  My big goal is to run for five miles without stopping on hale hill.  I think I can, I think I can!  

Ajman

We had a little get together to give Aumans their anniversary quilt.  I enjoyed it so much.  I love old friends that know you well.  Cake, coffee, or wine...makes for a really enjoyable time! 

Super Bowl and a baby quilt

I'm not a crazy football fan but I'm so glad we get invited to the big game!  We have so much fun!
